Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 30, 2026
KolBo Filter ("we," "us," or "our") operates kolbofilter.com and provides device filtering and content management services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to that information. By using our website or services, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly when you contact us, request a service, or submit a form on our website. This may include:
- Your name and contact information (phone number, email address)
- Your physical address, if scheduling an in-home or walk-in appointment
- Device information relevant to the filtering service you are requesting
- Payment information, processed securely through our payment processor — we do not store full card numbers
We also collect certain information automatically when you visit our website, including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referring URL. This information is collected through standard server logs and analytics tools.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, schedule, and complete the filtering services you requested
- Communicate with you about your appointment, order, or support request
- Process payments and send receipts
- Send service-related updates or follow-up communications
- Improve our website and understand how visitors interact with it
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Device Access and Management Profiles
When you engage KolBo Filter to configure a device, we may install a Mobile Device Management (MDM) profile or apply system-level configuration. This gives us administrative access to manage the device's filtering settings. We use this access exclusively to provide the filtering service you requested. We do not access personal files, messages, photos, or app data on your device unless you specifically ask us to troubleshoot something that requires it. Management profiles can be removed by KolBo Filter at your request at any time; supervised mode removal requires a factory reset of the device.
4. Sharing of Information
We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: We work with payment processors, scheduling tools, and email providers who access your data only as needed to provide their services to us, under confidentiality obligations.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our business or others.
- Business transfers: If KolBo Filter is acquired or merges with another entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and for a reasonable period thereafter, or as required by law. Customer records related to service history are retained for up to three years. If you would like us to delete your information, contact us using the details in Section 10.
6. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include using encrypted connections (HTTPS), limiting access to personal data to authorized personnel, and using secure payment processors. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Cookies and Tracking
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to improve your browsing experience and analyze site traffic. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; doing so may limit some functionality of the site. We do not use cookies to track you across unrelated third-party websites.
8. Children's Privacy
Our services are intended for adults managing devices on behalf of themselves or their families. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information without parental consent, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your personal information
